Stacie Shivers

Stacie Shivers, a proud For Dancer’s Only alumnus, recently obtained her Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) in School-Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Stacie’s research combined her passion for both dance and behavioral science, focusing on the influence of movement/dance on emotional and behavioral regulation in children and adolescents.  It is Stacie’s fervor for dance that prompted her interest in psychology.  Stacie’s dance background consisted of participating in educational dance videos, competing regionally and nationally for eleven years, and winning various titles and scholarships.  Stacie graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance and second major in Psychology from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.  While at Mason Gross, Stacie performed works by Stephen Petronio, Mark Morris, Rennie Harris, and Randy James.  Stacie’s professional career included performing nationally and internationally with FreeSpace Dance, Nimbus Dance Works, Kim Gibilisco Dances, and Von Howard Project. In addition, Stacie’s choreography has been showcased at regional elementary and high schools, educational programs, dance studios, and BergenPAC.  Stacie is thrilled to join the company of such remarkably talented teachers and students at FDO.
