Kelsey Connolly

  Kelsey Connolly was born and raised in Connecticut and and is a recent graduate of  The Juilliard School.  She made her professional debut in October 2014 at the Joyce Theater with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.  While at Juilliard, she had the opportunity to perform new works by Monica Bill Barnes, Emery LeCrone, Darrell Grand Moultrie and Larry Keigwin.  She has also had the privilege of performing Lar Lubovitch’sConcerto 622, Murray Louis’s Four Brubeck Pieces, and Jose Limon's Missa Brevis.
     Prior to Juilliard, Kelsey attended the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and the Greenwich Ballet Academy, where she danced principal roles in classical repertoire. She also competed in many competitions around the U.S., including YAGP where she placed in the top three.
     Kelsey has attended summer programs and workshops throughout the U.S. and Europe, including Nederlands Dans Theater, The Hague; Les Etes de la Danse, Paris; Henny Jurriens, Amsterdam; Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago; LINES Ballet, San Francisco; American Ballet Theater, NYC; Juilliard; and others.
     Along with Kelsey's many performances at Juilliard, she has continued to pursue her interest in choreography.  In her 3rd year she was selected for the Choreographers and Composers concert where she conceived a new piece in collaboration with composer Molly Joyce. Her works were also selected to perform in the Choreographic Honor's Concert as well as the 2015 Senior Production.
      Kelsey wishes to pursue a performing career, whether in a contemporary ballet company or on a Broadway stage. Ultimately, whichever direction her career and life takes her, it is Kelsey's desire to continue to be surrounded by creative people from all artistic perspectives.
     Kelsey holds the Harry Bernstein Dance Scholarship and S. Kim Oh Scholarship for Leadership in Public Service.
